Jim Ambras
brings a wealth of high-tech experience to Zee Source from a 20-year
career that spans advanced research and development, systems
software and enterprise application development.
Jim is Vice President of Engineering at Peerflix. Previously, he was
at OnStation where, as the VP of Products and Services, he was
instrumental in turning the company around and launching many of its
defining products. Prior to OnStation, Jim was Vice President of
Engineering at AltaVista, where he created the AltaVista Live portal
and led development of the company's 20 international search
sites. Before AltaVista, Jim served as Vice President of Engineering
at Zip2 Corporation, a leading provider of Web-based enterprise
software and services to the media industry, sold to Compaq in 1999
in the then largest all-cash acquisition of an Internet company.
Prior to Zip2, Jim led the teams building SGI's innovative software
development products for C, C++, Fortran, Ada and Java developers,
and contributed to starting the company's digital media efforts. He
began his career at HP Labs, where he performed research on software
development tools and methodologies.
Jim holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Syracuse University.
Manish Rai
Manish Rai has a proven track record with more that 15 years of experience in
creating and marketing industry leading software applications. Most recently,
Mr. Rai was Director of Product Management and Strategy at BackWeb where he managed
the IBM channel offerings and developed the Channel Sales execution plan. Prior
to BackWeb, Mr. Rai was VP of Product Marketing and Co-founder at CallVista, Inc.
At CallVista he conceived the mobile CRM applications for sales and service.
Prior to CallVista, Mr. Rai was Director of Product Management at eGain - the
leading provider of customer interaction software. As the first product manager
at eGain, he shaped the industry leading Email Management and Live Collaboration
product lines. During his tenure, eGain's flagship Email Management and Live Collaboration
product lines grew from $0 to $50M in revenues. Mr. Rai also led the business
development efforts on some of the most successful OEM relationships at eGain.
Earlier in his career, he spent six years in various management and engineering
positions at Booz Allen and Hamilton, Pep Boys, Capital One and HK Systems.
Mr. Rai has an MBA from Wharton Business School, and an MS in Electrical Engineering
from University of Arizona.
